Hiley Supports The Arlington Police Department D.A.R.E. Program!

The Arlington Police Department initiated their D.A.R.E. program in 1987 and has become recognized locally and nationally as an exemplary program. The Departments D.A.R.E. Unit has produced five Texas D.A.R.E. Officers of the Year since its inception.
The 17-week program involves certified police instructors teaching one-hour classes in respective elementary schools. The curriculum is research based and centers on developing life skills that will assist children with everyday issues. Topics include but are not limited to conflict resolution, decision-making, positive alternative activities, and most importantly remaining drug and gang free. The Arlington Police Department D.A.R.E. program's success is due to community involvement that's built on a triad model involving the police department, school district, and businesses.
