Design of Golf GTI
The 2017 Golf GTI is a 4-door compact hatchback with quadruple model choices: the S, Sport, SE, and Autobahn. The Sport allows keyless ignition/entry, the Performance package, and adaptive xenon headlights. The SE has automatic headlights, a sunroof, automatic wipers, leather upholstery, and a Fender premium sound system. The S offers LED foglights, heated mirrors, a rear spoiler, plaid cloth upholstery, a cooled glovebox, programmable drive modes, a driver information display, height-adjustable and heated front seats with power recline, ambient interior lighting, a rearview camera, 6.5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and an 8-speaker sound system. The Autobahn provides essentially everything from the other trims, and then an increased rear stabilizer bar, a navigation system, a 2-zone automatic climate control, adaptive suspension dampers, and a 10-way power driver seat. The Driver Assistance package for the SE installs a forward collision warning system with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. There is alternate Driver Assistance package for the Autobahn model that provides automated parallel parking, front and rear parking sensors, an automatic high-beam headlight control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a lane departure warning.
